The largest pan-Asian event on the East Coast, this colorful spectacle features traditional lion and dragon dances, beautiful floats, antique cars, beauty queens, karaoke contest, ice sculpture display, dog parade, pig races, marching bands and cultural performers from all across Asia; including China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and many numerous Hispanic culture and dance groups and floats will be joining us this year. Started to promote solidarity within the Chinatown community, traditional Asian/Chinese culture the parade has evolved into one of the city’s major winter tourist attractions and largest winter parade in the East Coast. It also receives extensive worldwide media coverage.

This unique event provides a terrific opportunity for your corporation to gain maximum exposure on a local, national and international level. By participating as a sponsor, you will reach a wide selection of emerging and niche markets, which include the Chinese American and Asian American markets, the New York City tourism market, metro area consumers and China. Absolutely no other event in New York provides direct access to these important consumer segments like the Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade and Fireworks Ceremony.

A few years ago, Governor Pataki signed into law a Senate Bill (S-3961-B) commemorating the Asian Lunar New Year in New York State, which is an official recognition of this important day for many Asian American New Yorkers.

Your corporation’s participation at the Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade & New Year’s Day Firecracker Ceremony is a great way to show your support of the Asian American community (particularly in Chinatown, which was greatly impacted following the events of September 11th), diversity at the workplace and cultural events in New York City.
